Week-end Fun

We are snowed in today so it is time to BLOG!!!!

Saturday night Sandi and I attended a company party. The food was really good. At the end of the evening there were a couple of DJs playing dance music. The current dance styles baffle me, where most of the dancers seem to stand in the middle of the dance floor and kind of jump up and down, not necessarily in time to the music. That left Sandi and I some room to dance over on one corner of the small floor. Our style of dance probably baffles the young folks, so we were even. They started having dance contests on about every fifth song and we were pretty much out of the running with the break dancing exhibitions. On about the third contest they played a swing dance. Only about 10 couples competed. Sandi and I tried a really fast version of the west coast swing and won a pretty nice piece of luggage for 1st place prize.

Our finest Christmas dance attire.

Then, Sunday we joined a multi-stake assembly and sang excerpts from Handel's Messiah. It was really great. We have some really talented musicians in our area. A small orchestra was located in front of the pews and several vocalists sang the solos from the stand. The entire congregation sang the chorus parts.
