Winter on Our Street

A little snow storm blew through here Wednesday night and since it is an unusual event in our area, schools and many businesses closed. Our house looks peaceful and snug with the snow decoration. The city crew stuck a small plow on their 1 ton and did their best to keep a couple of main streets passable. Ours is not a main street and it is still closed.
It doesn't look threatening at the top and many people ignore the sign.
It is not too bad down to our place in the trees on the right in the picture below. We are scheduled for a major wind storm tomorrow night. I hope the trees can stand up to it.

When you get just below our house , the ground drops away down to the lake. This is a good place to turn around when it is slippery. Some seem to think of the hill as a challenge to be conquered. You can see the point of no return in the picture below.

After you start down it is a clear shot to the lake except for the freeway at the bottom and a football practice field.
The car on the left was parked there before the road was closed. The driver was a Seattle Seahawk football player. He said he learned that after you start down, don't step on the brakes.
The wrecker got him back on the road early Friday evening. No damage to the car!
If we get another few inches of snow as forecast, we will have a good vantage point for watching the show.
